Why Plant a Church?
It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation. Rather, as it is written: 'Those who were not told about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand.' " -Romans 15: 20-21
Paul's mission is our mission we want to build a foundation of gospel preaching where a biblical foundation is not currently laid out. Specifically, we seek to plant churches in the Clinton County, Illinois communities that have no Bible believing Churches such as Germantown, Aviston, and Albers. We are praying for God's provision to accomplish this mission. |
Can believers and non-believers in these towns go and find churches in nearby towns? With a little driving they could, but the great commission in Matthew 28:19 does not say, "Wait and have disciples and future disciples come to you" it says, "Go and make disciples." Also the Apostle Paul talks of the priority of going to new areas where there is no foundation of gospel preaching. In Romans 15:20, Paul tells the Romans he would love to spend time with them so they can strengthen each other but his priority is to make sure those who have not been told can hear and understand(vs21). Also In Luke 4:43, Jesus says to the people wanting him to stay after spreading the gospel in the area that he "...must preach the gospel in other towns also, because that's why I was sent" Luke 4:43 Won't you be part of proclaiming in these towns with us?
We seek to see God worshipped in a gathering in every town. We can't do this alone. We need God's people to help. If you are willing to step up in faith and help us we would be greatly encouraged to hear from you and be helped by you.
